Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Embarks on a Journey into Fujairah

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, a luxury brand within the AccorHotels portfolio looks forward to welcoming its newest entrant in the United Arab Emirates - Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort scheduled to open in January 2017.

The property’s inauguration ceremony held on 15th December, was attended by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; advisor to H.H The President of the UAE. and H.H. Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi; member of the supreme council and ruler of the Emirate of Al Fujairah.

Enveloped by panoramic vistas of the marina and the Gulf of Oman, this luxurious 180 room property will be the region’s first art inspired hotel highlighted by spacious and light filled spaces. Upon opening, it will join a distinctive collection in the United Arab Emirates which includes Fairmont Dubai, the brand’s original flagship hotel in the Middle East, Fairmont The Palm on the largest manmade island in the world, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi and Fairmont Ajman, located in the emirate of perennial sunshine.

An approximate 90-minute drive from the hyper-charged metropolis of Dubai and set against the majestic backdrop of the Al Hajar Mountains and deep blue of the wide Indian Ocean, the luxurious retreat will serve as an idyllic getaway for local UAE residents and international guests.

‘We are pleased to add to our rapidly growing portfolio of hotels in the UAE with the introduction of the uniquely designed Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort,’ said Omar Souab, General Manager. ‘This resort will be a high-profile addition to the East Coast’s developing hospitality and tourism industry.’

A contemporary mosaic-tiled swimming pool, children’s club, the brand’s famed Willow Stream Spa, fully-equipped fitness centre and dive centre, make up the resort’s leisure offerings. In addition to expansive outdoor space, meeting and social event planners will have access to three meeting rooms, including a large modern-day pre-function area.

One of the key highlights of Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort is its innovative dining portfolio. Five outlets await guests including Canvas; the resort’s all-day-dining restaurant with multiple interactive food stations, Arteasan; the ideal spot for a leisurely afternoon spent surrounded by art and The Copper Lobster, with fresh seafood in a London gastro-bar setting. A European style bistro, Café Pronto, will serve coffee and light bites while poolside diners can enjoy a cold beverage at IAMMAI (pronounced ya-mai).

In recent years, Fujairah has witnessed a rapid growth in tourism and infrastructural developments. The tourism board recently announced the Emirate’s 2040 plan to include new roads, housing complexes, an expansion of the airport and the opening of a two kilometer stretch of corniche from Qidfa to Merbeh. These improvements aim to improve the quality of life to residents and heighten the appeal to both leisure and business travellers.

Omar Souab said, ‘Fujairah’s easy accessibility from Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah airports, along with the country’s excellent road network, makes it a favourite long weekend or vacation getaway for both local UAE residents and GCC visitors. We are certain the hotel will meet the demands of guests seeking contemporary accommodation, convenience and paramount comfort.’

Bearing testament to the region’s rich Arab heritage, the rugged landscape along the East Coast is full of historical and archeological importance including castles, forts and watchtowers. It is also home to one of the UAE’s oldest mosques.

Visitors are also attracted by the Emirate’s idyllic beaches and famed diving spots known for being amongst the best in the region. Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort will seek to reap the benefits of growing tourist footfall and interest in the Northern Emirates.
