Fujairah Observer interviews Maradona

Maradona2 jpgFujairah Observer magazine presents the first ever UAE magazine interview with Fujairah Football Club coach and legend Diego Maradona;

-Hello Diego, Eamann from Fujairah Observer magazine here, it's an honour to talk to a football legend! You have recently confirmed you will be staying for a second year with Fujairah FC. How was year one?

Hello, firstly let's go step by step, nobody runs before walking.

My presence with the club has been fantastic and we only think about fulfilling our objective which is promotion, then we will think about the rest.

-What makes Fujairah FC so special?

This club works perfectly, both the choice of the players who give me 110% in everything I ask them and the leaders/management who support the project are the fundamental pillars at this perfect time.

-The team, with your leadership is now riding high in division 1, what is the secret to their and your success?

The secret is to have everyone on our side, with a united and supported group that believes that success is not only mine, but it belongs to everyone.

-You are the most famous footballer in the world, what is your greatest achievement?

My sporting achievements without doubt are the World Championships; as much in the 1979 FIFA World Youth Championship as is the World Cup in 1986 wearing the colours of my country.

-What is your favourite restaurant in Fujairah?

Unfortunately I don't have the possibility of knowing the restaurants in this city as I live in Dubai and the travel is long.

But I can assure you that any time I've been to Millennium  Hotel the attention to detail and the food was excellent.

-What are your plans for the future?

The important thing for me is the present, my mind is in achieving the promotion with the club. I imagine I will be still in the club, it's my wish.

-Do you have a message for the Fujairah Observer readers?

My message to the Fujairah Observer readers is to support the team and have patience. The players are giving everything. We have a fantastic team.

Thank you so much Diego for talking to us here at Fujairah Observer magazine. Venceremos!
