To commemorate breast Cancer Awareness month in October, Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort reached out to golf aficionados for an opportunity to pitch in for a chip-in.

Golf enthusiasts drove into Fujairah the night before to experience the official launch of Dupper: a hybrid between dinner and supper, with a twist. Having indulged in free-flowing stylish cocktails, great dining and dynamic DJ beats, golfers and their families spent the rest of their evening at Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort before teeing off to Ras Al Khaimah to spend the day golfing for a cause.

Hosted at the Tower Links Golf Club on Friday, 6 October, golf enthusiasts from Dubai and Fujairah came together to support Friends of Cancer Patients, a non-for profit organization committed to raising funds for the treatment of cancer patients in the UAE and beyond. They were able to drive, lob, putt and roll up their sleeves for a good cause: help cancer patients overcome the challenges they face throughout the various stages of their treatment.

Marking the resort's first CSR event since its opening in December 2016, the golf tournament is the brainchild of golf enthusiast and Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort General Manager Omar Souab. In line with the Fairmont Sustainability Partnership Programme and AccorHotels Planet 21, Souab reiterated, "it is our duty to work hand-in-hand with our local communities and fulfill our vision to drive the change towards a hospitality that is innovative whilst also being socially responsible."

While the gentlemen participated in a fruitful golf tournament, their partners enjoyed a day of pampering at the resort's Willow Stream Spa, Fairmont's only other signature health and wellness centre.

The event culminated with pre-dinner cocktails in the resort’s luxurious Royal Suite and an experiential charity dinner at the Northern Emirates' only seafood and gastro bar concept, The Copper Lobster. Locally-sourced Lobster, Hammour and a selection of gourmet oysters sourced from the Middle East's first shellfish farm, Dibba Bay, were just a few of the options presented at The Copper Lobster. And while great dining was the highlight of the evening, Alexander Khvastunov, Russian bred mixologist, adorned the gastro bar with authentically local handcrafted cocktails using locally sourced herbs and homemade syrups, which proved to be a true crowd pleaser.
