Fujairah Ruler forms emergency response team

His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, issued a decree to form a management team for emergencies, crises and disasters in the Emirate of Fujairah. 

According o Resolution No. (12), for the year 2011, the new emergency management team will be headed by Brigadier-General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al-Kaabi, Commander General of Fujairah Police, with the membership of the director of Fujairah's National Office of Coordination and Response, part of the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA), and representatives of federal and local institutions and government departments in Fujairah.

 

The aim behind the formation of the team is to raise the level of preparedness and emergency response through the development of an integrated system of procedures in the emirate and to oversee its implementation in coordination with NCEMA and relevant parties.

 

The management team will specialize in emergency, crisis and disaster communication and coordination in all fields in order to achieve integration at all levels. 

It will also supervise the preparation and submission of plans for local response to emergencies, crises and disasters, in coordination with the relevant authorities, and overseeing the development of capabilities by program coordination between the authorities across the emirate and updating them periodically.

 

The new emergency management team is also responsible for overseeing the preparation and coordination of response plans for critical facilities and infrastructure in the emirate and the follow up their implementation in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
