The Ministry has completed 25% of the development and modernization of Hamad Bin Abdullah Street, the main artery of Fujairah, and completed 18% of the second phase of Kalba Ring Road project. Engineer Ahmed Al Hammadi, Director of Roads Department, Ministry of Infrastructure Development stated that the Ministry also achieved a completion rate of up to 20% of the second phase of the project Khor Fakkan Western Ring Road.

Al Hamadi said: "The ministry is racing against time in order to complete all the ongoing road projects implemented in the agreed schedule with pre-executing companies, and according to international standards for the roads file in UAE, pointing out that the Ministry of Infrastructure Development is keen to create an infrastructure of roads contributing to Achieve rapid communication between all Emirates and minimizing the percentage of traffic accidents on the main roads, under the directives of His Excellency Dr. Eng. Abdullah Belheif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development. "

According to the Director of Roads Department at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the cost of Hamad Bin Abdullah Street in Fujairah reached AED 250 million, including development, modernization and increase of efficiency operations, the construction of a tunnel inside the street, and the expansion of the street to be a two-way three-lane, and create Overpasses opposite to the banks and federal and local institutions, and will surround the street with a circular fence protecting all passers-by from traffic accidents.

Hamad Bin Abdullah Street serves thousands of transit cars and employees in many banks and federal and local institutions and departments as well as more than four major universities in Fujairah. According to Ahmed Al Hammadi, the percentage of completion seem low due to the operations of deep drilling to construct the tunnel in the street, and requires the transfer of excavations elsewhere, while retaining ensuring the functioning of heavy traffic on the street without stopping. Work at Hamad Ben Street is expected to finish in the third quarter of 2019.
