Restaurant Review of the New Bombay Sea Food Restaurant

NewBombay1 gifThere are lots of restaurants in and around Fujairah. We like try them out and let you know the look, taste and feel of a place before you try them out for yourselves.

The restaurants seating area comprises of mainly private cubicles which have a functional ambience. These cabins are usually preferable for families, groups of friends or business lunches but you’ll find there is a group of tables more open to the rear of the restaurant.

We found our waiting staff (Belle and Faisal) to be efficient, friendly but most importantly quite knowledgeable of the entire menu.

All major languages were also covered by Bombay staff (Arabic, English, Hindi and Tagalog) our usual reservations of restaurants who claim to use fresh seafood is to confirm the claim. So our intention was to target seafood and fish only.

An offering of poppadoms, mango chutney with fresh mint yoghurt sauce and customary salad allowed us to peruse the extensive menu.

Our first order of Chilli Jumbo Prawns came on a sizzling hot plate with a fairly hot tandoori sauce (our preference as we were given the option) and were undoubtedly freshly caught and were extremely delicious.

NewBombay2 gifWe followed the prawns with Fish Tandoor where a local fish - sheri - is served whole on a large platter. It was well cooked and tasted fresh and came with chips but you could of course have rice or vegetables.

My companion had a Goan Fish Curry. An aromatic curry made with coconut milk and lots of spices but still packed a little punch! A side order of nan bread to soak up the sauce was a must!

The sweet was recommended by the staff was the Gulab Jamun which was decadently sweet so best to keep the portion small. This is a traditional Indian dessert of spongy milky balls soaked in rose scented syrup.

Overall a good meal with moderate prices and freshness of the products. The menu is varied covering vegetarian and non vegetarian plates in both Indian and Chinese dishes. (We’ll try Chinese next time we visit)

New Bombay Seafood restaurant also do outdoor catering and deliver free. They will provide food for all kinds of special occasions like wedding, birthday, parties, conference or for any event.
