Our Own English High School Fujairah hold UAE Exhibition

OOEHSExhibitionDE17b jpgThe Social Studies, Arabic and Islamic departments of Our Own English High School Fujairah jointly organised a theme Exhibition titled ‘UAE past, present and future’’. 

 

The Exhibition throw light on the historical and cultural heritage of U.A.E, great strides in the nation’s progress and the ambitious future projects.  The exhibition was inaugurated by Principal Mr. Himmat S. Dhillon in the presence of Senior School Supervisor Ms. Mercy Jacob, Arabic Supervisor Ms. Samiha Abdel Monem, Middle School supervisor Mr. Vipin, Teaching and learning Supervisor Ms. Raman Jeet Dhillon, S.St. HOD Ms. Rajyalakshmi, Islamic HOD Amira El Makki, Exhibition Coordinators Mr. Duglas Joseph, Ms. Selin Baby and Ms. Mubshira, Ms. Alpana,  Ms. Waffa and  Ms. Doa,

 

The exhibition showcased a range of exhibits; among them the most notable was a heritage village which vividly describes the traditional life style in the Emirates with its customs, traditions, professions and architecture. The students and parents had a great opportunity to see the different styles of the traditional local life ranging from coastal, desert and mountain life. It displays many types of houses made of stone, palm trees and mud.

 

There were a number of working models on display as part of the exhibition. A model of the new attraction in the Dubai’s landscape ‘’Dubai Frame’ received high appreciation from the visitors. The models of Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis hotel, Al Bidhiya mosque, Sheikh Zayed mosque and Fujairah fort were very attractive. The blend of Arabian and modern architecture was manifested in the construction of the skyscrapers of U.A.E.

 

The school was buzzing with excitement as many of the middle, and senior school Arabic Language students took part in the Arabic Innovation Exhibition. The display of Arabic calligraphy attracts the students and visitors alike. 

 

The Islamic section shed light over the Islamic empires’ great achievements in the various fields of knowledge; from science to technology and from art to literature. 

 

Among the items displayed were also a model of ‘The Hope Spacecraft’ of U.A.E which is expected to arrive at Mars in 2020 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the U.A.E, an array of pots, baskets and vessels which sheds lights on the oldest handicrafts in the UAE 

 

Another notable exhibit was a project which displays the old rural and present urban landscape of Dubai in a single platform. The comparison between old and modern Dubai, which is separated by a few number of years shows the incredible march of Dubai from a fishing hamlet to an ultra-modern city.

The coin and stamp collection under the title Numismatics and Philately were really informative. The coins, currencies and stamps from U.A.E and G.C.C were on display.

 

Hundreds of students of Social Studies, Arabic and Islamic departments belong to the C.B.S.E and I.G.C.S.E streams involved in the making of projects and displays under the guidance and supervision of Senior School Supervisor Ms. Mercy Jacob, Arabic Supervisor Ms. Samiha Abdel Monem,  S.St. HOD Ms. Rajyalakshmi, Islamic HOD Amira El Makki, Exhibition Coordinators Mr. Duglas Joseph, Ms. Selin Baby and Ms. Mubshira, Ms. Alpana,  Ms. Waffa and  Ms. Doa

  

The Exhibition witnessed the attendance of a large number of parents who appeared to enjoy and appreciate the projects displayed. The exhibition provided an opportunity to understand the rich cultural legacy of U.A.E. The Exhibition generated excitement among a diverse group of visitors, ranging from children to adults.
