Over 150 triathletes took part in the first race of the second series of the Oceanic Triathlon in October hosted at the Oceanic Hotel Resort and Spa in Khorfakkan. The popular event first launched earlier this year and has become a key race in the sporting calendar in Sharjah with athletes coming from all over the UAE to take part

Athletes enjoyed the Short Course which consists of an 800 metre swim in the Oceanic Hotel Resort and Spa’s natural bay, a 30 kilometre cycle through the beautiful town located along the Gulf of Oman and a 7 kilometre run along the corniche before enjoying the post event celebrations with friends and family at the resort.

The event also saw a number of younger athletes take part in the Super Sprint which consists of a 375 metre swim, a 12 kilometre cycle and a 2.5 kilometre run, giving those new to the sport a chance to gain valuable experience in a beautiful setting.
