Fujairah to host Asian U-19 qualifiers on 27th of October

The UAE Football Association revealed that the its Technical Committee has chosen the emirate of Fujairah to host the Group D qualifiers for the finals of the Asian U-19 Football Championships in 2012.

 

The qualifiers, which start on the 27th of October, will take place on the ground of Fujairah Football club, as the draw for qualifying has put the national team along with teams of Syria, Yemen, Palestine and Lebanon. 

 

The Technical Committee took the decision at its last meeting, held recently at the Association’s HQ in Abu Dhabi, and agreed to assign the task of hosting the qualifiers to Fujairah and decided to approach the AFC for approval in this regard. 

 

The Board of Directors of Fujairah Sports Club said they have already made special preparations for the qualifiers and received administrative representatives of the FA to assure them on the progress of those preparations. 

 

The FA delegation later held a meeting in Fujairah Sports Club attended by several members of the Board of Directors the Fujairah club and Nasser Al-Yamahi, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Competitions.

 

The parties at the meeting discussed the latest developments and readiness of Fujairah Sports Club, most notably the pitch and the changing rooms for the players, in addition, the full preparation of the offices of the Organising Committee and the Asian Football Association, were also considered. 

 

Other matters discussed were: marketing, hospitality, media processing, the media centre and the press conference room. 

 

The FA’s delegation also inspected the accommodation establishments reserved for visiting teams and the overall readiness of hotels that will host the delegates. 

 

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the competition, Nasser Al Yamahi, stated that a large proportion of facilities of Fujairah Sports Club is ready to receive the event, after H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad Al Sharqi supervised the redevelopment and modernization of vital facilities in the club such as the pitches, auditoriums and stands under the guidance and direct follow-up of H.H. so Fujairah Club can be ready to host such international sporting events.
