In recent years, Fujairah has witnessed a rapid growth in tourism and infrastructural developments. The tourism board recently announced the Emirate’s 2040 plan to include new roads, housing complexes, an expansion of the airport and the opening of a two kilometer stretch of corniche from Qidfa to Merbeh. These improvements aim to improve the quality of life to residents and heighten the appeal to both leisure and business travellers.
Omar Souab said, ‘Fujairah’s easy accessibility from Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah airports, along with the country’s excellent road network, makes it a favourite long weekend or vacation getaway for both local UAE residents and GCC visitors. We are certain the hotel will meet the demands of guests seeking contemporary accommodation, convenience and paramount comfort.’
Bearing testament to the region’s rich Arab heritage, the rugged landscape along the East Coast is full of historical and archeological importance including castles, forts and watchtowers. It is also home to one of the UAE’s oldest mosques.
Visitors are also attracted by the Emirate’s idyllic beaches and famed diving spots known for being amongst the best in the region. Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort will seek to reap the benefits of growing tourist footfall and interest in the Northern Emirates.
