Towering above the Fujairah sky, the Nour Arjaan by Rotana, stands out even among a clutch of similarly dazzling recent additions to the Fujairah cityscape. Last October concluded a year in business for the Fujairah branch of the respected brand, part of the Rotana Group of Companies.
In a competitive sector, facing fallout from an on-going global economic downturn and the somewhat predictable challenges and uncertainties of a first year business operation, the Nour Arjaan by Rotana, Fujairah, appears to be quietly but surely making its mark on the Fujairah tourism scene.
Ahmet Ender, General Manager of Nour Arjaan by Rotana, Fujairah, says the first year went pretty much as expected, though, as management they always aim high.
He said: “We’ve had a steady first year; our year average occupancy rate was 50%, which is not surprising giving all factors, but we are positive this will change in the future as people know more about what we offer.”
World traveler
Mr. Ender spent a life time in the hotel and tourism sector and worked in the UK, Germany and Canada as he worked his way up the management ladder. His longest working experience, however, is in the UAE and Abu Dhabi, in particular.
He always enjoyed coming to Fujairah with his family before he was charged with fronting the latest venture by the Rotana group.
An enthusiastic and committed worker, Mr. Ender was keen to emphasis the quality and personal touch which, he says, is a mark of the Rotana brand.
With 225 luxurious rooms, 24-hour room service, high quality restaurant as well as sauna, gym and massage facilities, the Nour Arjaan is well equipped to succeed in an increasingly competitive sector.
Mr. Ender is happy to compete and even welcomes more competitors as, he says, it will raise the overall profile of the emirate of Fujairah and benefit everyone in the end.
“This is such a wonderful area and it still has the prospect of growing much more”. He said.
Mr Ender added: “The government has been supportive and has done a lot to help the tourism sector but we need more perhaps to make the best use of the beaches and mountain areas which if we invest in properly will help attract many more tourists and even make Fujairah a prime destination rather than secondary to the likes of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.”
The hotel apartments of Nour Arjaan cater primarily to business travellers and families and offers different service to hotels by providing cooking facilities on top of cleaning and food services.
Compared to similar accommodations available in Fujairah, Nour Arjaan truly offers a superior option, reasonably priced and with a brand quality.
It will be interesting to see how the hotel will performs as more big name brands enter the market but it’s fair to say the Nour Arjaan will offer great competition of its own.
