His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad Al Sharqi visited the Concorde Fujairah Hotel stand at Fujairah Career Fair, held at Fujairah Exhibition Centre on 15th to 17th May
Mohamed Fekry, General Manager, Concorde Fujairah welcomed Sheikh Maktoum to stand briefed him on the property’s effort to employ more Emiratis into the property and attract them into the hospitality industry. He explained that there have been misconceptions involving employment opportunities in the hospitality industry so they hope that their participation in the career fair will encourage more Emiratis in Fujairah to enter the industry.
He said: “The hospitality industry is growing tremendously and the UAE is currently the number one destination for tourists in the Middle East. Emiratis who choose to work in this sector are therefore entering a secure and growing industry. Sometimes Emiratis have the perception that the main business of hotels is night clubs and this deters them from seeking hotel jobs. Our hotel is family-friendly and our main business is hospitality. Another perception is that hotel workers only do housekeeping and serve food. The Concorde currently has middle and higher management positions available such as Public Relations Manager and Guest Relations Manager and we are keen to recruit qualified Emiratis for these important roles.”
The hotel had set up their stand with dining table and chairs, a luxury bed and a television, to give visitors a preview of what to expect from the elegant five-star hotel.
