First UAE Modern Rowing Championship

The continuous support and encouragement of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Fujairah Modern Rowing Team was established and participated in the first UAE Modern Rowing Championship which Fujairah International Marine Club and the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation have organized its second round on 5th April 2013. 

 

Fujairah team, which is based in Fujairah International Marine Club and coached by Captain Mehdi Garidi, the UAE Rowing coach, was established after their successful participation in the World Rowing Championship in New Zealand 2010, and Korea 2011. The team participated in different categories that were available in Fujairah’s round as it had different categories such as, single scull, double scull, quad ripple scull, and kayaks. Also, different age groups participated of both males and females. 

 

Overall Results:

 

1st place: Ras Al Khaimah Marine Club - 23 points

2nd place: Al Hemreyah Social and Cultural Club – 9 points

3rd place: Fujairah International Marine Club – 9 points

 

Seniors Categories:

 

1st place: Al Hemreyah Social and Cultural Club – 17 points

2nd place: Fujairah International Marine Club – 11 points

3rd place: Ras Al Khaimah Marine Club – 4 points

 

Teams Categories:

 

1st place: Ras Al Khaimah Marine Club – 27 points

2nd place: Al Hemreyah Social and Cultural Club – 26 points

3rd place: Fujairah International Marine Club – 20 points
