The boat “Coral” won first place in the second round of the Heritage Shush Boat Tournament organized by the Fujairah International Marine Club (FIMC) for the Cup of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
9 boats, steered by 45 sailors, participated in the round, which saw the boat “Wadi Ham”, led by seaman and owner, Salem Abdullah Saeed, finish in second place, and finishing third was the boat “The Gun” for owner Yousif Barone and captained by the seaman, Muhsin Al Ali.
The boat “Fazza”, led seaman and owner, Abdul Aziz Massoud, came in fourth place, then came “The UAE Educational Services”, led by owner and seaman, Nasser Khalfan Al-Kindi in fifth place.
Sixth place went to “Al-Reghailat”, captained by the owner and seaman Yousif Barone, while in seventh place was the sister boat “Al-Reghailat 2”, in eighth place was “Al-Bustan”, led by Yousif Al-Kaabi and owned by Khalifa Masoud, and in last place was the boat “Fujairah” captained by Salem Masoud and owned by Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad Al Sharqi.
Following the competition, Ahmed Ibrahim, Executive Director of FIMC, crowned the winners of the first three places. Also honoured, were Mohammed and Saoud Salim Massoud as the youngest participants the tournament, at the ages of 10 and 12 years, respectively.
Their father entered them in the competitions on the boat of Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad Al Sharqi in order to pass on the tradition to the next generations, which was appreciated by the club management who allocated awards for the youngest competitors so that the tournament can teach children the sports of their grandparents.
