The Cats are Back

 

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Fujairah International Marine Club will once again organize and host the UIM Skydive Dubai World Series – Fujairah Grand Prix between 12-14 February as part of its 2014 watersports season. This will be the second time Fujairah hosts the Xcat after a huge success in 2011.

 

The Xcat (Xtreme Catamaran)

The Xcat is a new category of power boating that was established to replace the Class III with an emphasis on the safety of drivers. It is recognized by the UIM (Union Internationale Motonautique), the international governing body of power boating. The history of the Xcat powerboat races only goes back 6 years, yet they are growing at a fast pace as they are safe, reliable, relatively affordable and infectious. All these factors attracted internationally-recognized drivers such as Mohammed Al Marri & Arif Al Zaffain (UAE), Joakim Kumlin & Daniel Svenson (Sweden), Omar Danial & Gary Ballough (Switzerland and USA) and other great names.

 

Xcat in Fujairah

With its distinguished location facing the Gulf of Oman and the Indian Ocean, Fujairah is recognized to be one of the best locations in UAE for watersports. Whether hosting an international championship or a local competition, Fujairah International Marine Club have always proven their professionalism and dedication to ensuring that events are a success and that they are reflective of Fujairah’s drive for quality.

 

The roars of the 280hp Xcat engines will be heard once again in 2014, along with more attractions such as the powerboats parade on Corniche St., Flyboard exhibition, Skydive show, kids zone, a big screen with live commentary and much more.
